"Lost" selected for 2014 Creative Climate Action Awards /
So happy to report that "Lost", my stop motion animation was selected for 2014 Creative Climate Action awards. After a month long show at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office it took third prize. It's such a pleasure to work with the amazing people at the Human Impacts Institute and I'm honored to have been involved in "Making Climate Personal".
The Human Impacts Institute's Fourth Annual Creative Climate Awards, in partnership with Climate Week NYC, Positive Feedback, and Artbridge, bring together the visual arts, performance art, and film to install climate-inspired public works throughout New York City and the globe. This group exhibit and launch party are one of numerous public events with participating artists that are addressing this year's challenge to "Making Climate Personal".
This years Creative Climate Awards feature an amazing group of local and international artists, such as:
Films from: Susan Allbert, Neno Belchev, Joseph Erb, Miriam Simun & Miriam Songster, and Jody Sperling
Performances from: Marie Christine Katz, Carl Landegger, Christina Massey, Carolyn Monastra, Jeremy Pickard, and Marshall Reese & Nora Ligorano
2D works from: Pamela Casper, Tara DePorte, Sarah Filipi, Susan Hoenig, Linnea Ryshke, Francesca Sigilli, Yanli Shen, Shin Yeon-Moon, and Marina Zurkow with collaborators: Una Chaudhuri, Oliver Kellhammer, Fritz Ertl

Stop Motion Animation /
8th March 2014
My animated short film "Lost" will be screened at "Hands On: The Illusion of Movement".
New York City gallery Pocket Utopia is pleased to present an evening of animated short films by 13 contemporary artists from around the world curated by Bara Jichova.
Featuring works by: Susan Allbert, Martha Colburn, Erin Dunn, Dustin Grella, Amy Jenkins, Kirsten Lepore, Paulius Nosokas, Allison Schulnik, Jeffrey Scher, Pavel Švec, Matěj Smetana, Richard Tuohy and Theodore Ushev
All of these shorts celebrate both traditional animation and hands-on filmmaking. The techniques vary, ranging from hand-drawn, claymation, stop motion and cutout animation to cel animation process and rotoscoping technique.
Rather than having a traditional narrative structure, these films challenge audiences to find broader and more creative interpretations.
